Bloating is considered due to deranged vata that is triggerd by unhealthy lifestyle. Too much refrigerated foods, stress, lack of sleep and not eating at proper times will slow down the metabolism. Ayurvedic treatments like vasti will be beneficial and will improve the peristaltic movements. Medicines like Gandharvahastadi Kwath - 15ml with 60ml of warm water before food twice daily, Gasonilsyrup and Dasamoola haritaki lehyam - 1tsp after food at bedtime can be taken for a month and then reviewed. Include fig, yam, prunes, raisins, fiber, garlic, ginger and plantain stem. Reduce excess meat, sweet, salt, spicy foods, refined flour and deep fried food. Having early supper will improve the metabolism. Yogasanas like Utkadasana, Navasana, Vajrasana, Pavanamuktasana, Trikonasana, Halasana, Bhujangasana and Utkadasana will improve the metabolism and will reduce the bloating.
